Dr. Marie Letson has practiced optometry in north Alabama for 29 years. She is a 1993 graduate of UAH with a major in Biological Sciences and a minor in chemistry.
She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from UAB School of Optometry in 1997 after completing her externship at the Fox Army Hospital Optometry Clinic at Redstone Arsenal. She practices primary care optometry part time at R City Eyecare in Madison.
Dr. Letson completed low vision training at the Low Vision Institute in San Diego, CA, and is a member of the International Academy of Low Vision Specialists (IALVS). She is a past president of the North Alabama Optometric Society. Her professional associations include the American Optometric Association, the Alabama Optometric Association, and the UAB Alumni Association. She is committed to improving the quality of life and independence of low vision patients by optimizing their remaining vision with low vision solutions. She considers it a privilege to serve low vision patients in North Alabama.
